🔴 Reporting a problem: use the in-app entry

The app has a dedicated feedback entry that automatically attaches the diagnostics needed to investigate. Please prefer it over describing the symptom by email — the reason is below.

Settings → Help & Feedback → Report a problem

Attached

Run log, app version, device model, iOS version, photo count, free storage, scan progress

Not attached

Photos, thumbnails, file names, album names, search terms, location data

Why the log matters: one symptom usually maps to a dozen unrelated causes. “The scan is stuck” could be an iCloud fetch timing out, insufficient free space, iOS suspending background work, or an actual loop — a sentence cannot distinguish those, but the log looks completely different in each case.

Nothing is uploaded automatically; the report leaves your device only when you pick a destination (Mail / AirDrop / …) in the system share sheet.

FAQ

Why is the download ~190 MB? +
Because the semantic-search model (Apple MobileCLIP-S2) ships inside the app — about 189 MB for both encoders. Uploading photos to a server for analysis would shrink the app to a few MB, but then it would not be on-device. This is a deliberate trade-off.

It exceeds the 200 MB cellular download threshold, so please install over Wi-Fi.
How long does the first scan take? Can I pause it? +
Roughly 10 minutes for 30,000 photos, depending on your device and library. You can pause any time — results found so far stay usable, and “Resume” continues from where it stopped rather than starting over. Progress survives force-quitting the app or rebooting the phone.
Can deleted photos be recovered? +
Yes. Every deletion goes through the iOS system confirmation dialog, and photos land in Recently Deleted, recoverable for 30 days from the system Photos app. LensMind never bypasses that dialog and never deletes silently.
A photo I want to keep showed up under “Exposure” or “Blurry”. What should I do? +
Please report it. These detectors follow a precision-over-recall policy — a false positive means a threshold needs tuning, and I need a concrete sample to locate it. Use Settings → Help & Feedback → Report a problem, and describe the photo (night scene? shallow depth of field? flat-colour screenshot?).

Note that classification never deletes anything by itself — it only lists candidates for you to decide on.
Why do some photos seem to be skipped? +
If iCloud Photos is on and local storage is tight, many photos are cloud placeholders — visible but with no full-resolution copy on device. LensMind deliberately does not download them (that would consume your data and can be slow), so quality-based checks skip those. Download them locally and rescan if needed.
Is iPad or landscape supported? +
Not yet — iPhone portrait only.
Do I need an account? +
No. LensMind has no account system and needs no network connection. Install and go.
